About RiverTown Table
RiverTown Table is an independent guide to eating in the Hudson river towns, starting in Rockland County. Every listing is checked against the restaurant's own source and dated, so you can decide where to eat with facts rather than guesswork.
Who writes it
Safari Svensson moved to his family’s home in West Nyack a few years ago and has been exploring the river towns’ restaurants ever since. He runs Svensson Systems, a consultancy that builds websites, automation and AI tools for local businesses, and started RiverTown Table to help locals and visitors find somewhere good to eat.
How places are chosen
A guide covers every place to eat in its area that is open and can be checked against its own website, menu or a certifying body. Places without one are named in the text, not given a listing, because there's nothing to check their details against.
How facts are checked
Each listing records where its facts came from and the date they were checked. Prices are bands per person before drinks, set from the restaurant's own menu. Dietary claims such as kosher or halal are only published when the restaurant or its certifier states them, and a person confirms them. Listings are rechecked monthly, and a check date is never moved forward without a real check.
Why some listings have hours and others don't
Hours appear only when the restaurant publishes them in a machine-readable form on its own site, so they can be re-read every week. Hours from anywhere else, or typed in by hand, go stale without anyone noticing, so those listings link to the restaurant instead. Hours not re-checked within 30 days are removed until they are.
What we don't publish
No reviews, star ratings, review counts, "open now" claims or photos taken from restaurants. We don't describe visits that didn't happen.
Independence
Nobody pays to be listed. Whether a restaurant appears, where it appears in a list and what its listing says never depend on payment or on any business relationship with us. If we ever offer featured placement, it will be clearly labelled as paid and kept apart from the guide's own lists.

RiverTown Table is built and maintained by Svensson Systems, which makes websites, automation and AI tools for local businesses. Svensson Systems may work with restaurants that appear in this guide. That work never affects a listing, and restaurants that aren't clients are listed exactly as fully as those that are.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, or you run one of these restaurants and want a detail changed, email [email protected] with the restaurant and what's changed. Corrections are checked against your own site or menu before they go up. Restaurant owners can also update their own listing without waiting for us.
